When I got home last night after our class, I started reflecting on some of discussions we had concerning James, some of the issue's that were raised concerning what advise should be given to the mother just took me by surprise. one suggestion that was made was to place him with a native family. I just don't believe that ripping him out of a family that he feels comfortable and secure with would benefit that child, imagine what would happen to him mentally.

How do we know that James wasn't placed in a native home 16 other times, we also do know why James was placed in foster care, we don't know the situation! I personally feel that any advice to be given to any mother is just to love and care for your child.

Well said, Virginia. I believe that our need for unconditional love comes before anything and when we find it, it doesn't matter what the 'package' looks like -- we know we're safe and loved.
